Position Summary
Big Bad Boo Animation Studios is looking for experienced writers to contribute and write for a second season of “1001 Nights”, an established 2D animated Children’s Comedy TV series.

Key Responsibilities
- Pitching new ideas to story editors and producers/directors
- Working with existing premises and beat sheets to write detailed outlines, scripts and final drafts.
- Taking scripts from idea to completion in a timely fashion
- Taking notes from producers/directors and incorporating them into the script in a timely fashion
- Contributing to writer meetings with ideas, storylines and character development as needed
- Work closely with productions coordinators and pre-production team to deliver the show into animation
- Ability to read existing 1001 Nights and Arabian Nights literature and interpret that into a relevant and modern comedy piece for children
- Ability to work in a team environment and meet strict deadlines

Requirements
- Must have previous Children’s writing experiences for animated TV shows, preferably on a comedy or action based show
- Must have experience writing for the 6-9 age group, 11 minute episodes or equivalent
- Strong story ideas, overall vision and attention to detail in dialogue
- Familiarity with other cultures is a plus
- Familiarity with what TV stations are looking for is a plus
- University Degree or equivalent in Liberal Arts or other relevant field
- Experience with Mac computers and Final Draft is a plus
- Strong work ethic

About
We are a young company looking for experienced team players that can add to the overall energy of the show and are willing to take direction, notes and work on tight deadlines. Our show is a comedy series based on the famous tales of “1001 Nights”. Episodes are 11 minutes in length and targeting an age group of 6-9.
