Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a technical program manager who is passionate about building the most reliable platform for world-wide online entertainment.
The Battle.net accounts and commerce team develops the vital systems that enable Blizzard's games and websites to manage accounts and process purchases through numerous payment methods the world over. Our infrastructure and services house and provide access to hundreds of millions of Battle.net accounts, and manage millions of transactions for multiple regions around the globe. We need these systems to be rock-solid, and that's where you come in.
Our ideal candidate has comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, practices, and procedures in a professional software development environment and a background in operating live systems, environments, build systems, and deployment technologies. They are tenacious in their pursuit of efficiency and availability, and are able to thrive in a highly critical environment.
Responsibilities Act as project leader, communicate the vision of the team, and execute deliverables on time. Provide motivation and direction to ensure that project goals, objectives, milestones, and deliverables are achieved. Gather, document, and organize business, functional, and creative requirements for new projects from project stakeholders. Work and prioritize effectively across multiple teams. Identify, track, manage, and resolve project issues. Keep projects focused and manage change requests and set expectations with project stakeholders. Work with other program managers and engineering leads to plan effective resource utilization. Communicate, coordinate, track, and manage the activities of project resources to ensure that project tasks are completed on time, in scope, and at high quality. Contribute to a positive work environment. Requirements Outstanding communication, project management, and relationship-building s kills Background in operations, tools, and best practices used to manage large systems Strong business acumen and strong and proven aptitude to influence and lead without authority Unrelenting self-motivation and initiative; enthusiastic "can-do" attitude is a must Able to work well in a team environment and manage multiple complex projects with various groups within Battle.net and with other production teams Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience Pluses Experience building out production infrastructure of an ecommerce platform that serves millions of customers daily. Expertise in JIRA, Confluence, or comparable team collaboration applications. Scrum Alliance Certifications (CSM, CSPO, CSP, etc.) or PMI Certifications (PMP, ACP, etc.) Demonstrated passion for games
