Character TDs create the expressive, flexible and efficient rigs that allow our animators to bring life to the characters and props in our films.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities\: Work with the modelers and animators to create aesthetically pleasing deformations that meet the character's design requirements. Troubleshoot and wrangle character-rigging issues for artists within various disciplines. Maintains consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality work. Set-up characters and props with skeletons and deformers. Model targets for shape animation. Create interfaces and tools for assisting animation.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Visualization, or Computer Animation required or equivalent work experience. 3 years High-end CG production experience required.
Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate\: Strong proficiency with a major animation package, preferably Maya. MEL scripting experience or other programming skills is a plus. Familiarity with skeletons and all kinds of deformers including soft bodies and cloth. Experience in modeling and an understanding of the principles of animation Strong problem solving ability. Good artistic eye Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands\: The Character TD works in a production pipeline with hard deadlines and high productivity demands and, as such, flexible working hours during ?crunch-periods, including evenings and weekends, are required as a fundamental and necessary part of this job
Office working environment Walking/bending/sitting/standing Approximately 90% of time spent working on a Computer.
