Job Details Careers Center - Production TechnicianPlease Enable Cookies to ContinuePlease enable cookies in your browser to experience all the personalized features of this site, including the ability to apply for a job.Production TechnicianJob ID 2016-45028Location US-TN-MemphisCategory News OperationsPosted Date 3/29/2017More information about this jobOverviewThe primary focus of the Production Technician/Operator is to provide production assistance to Newscasts and in-studio programming.Responsibilities· Operates the studio handheld and jib camera· Operates the studio robotic cameras.· Controls the teleprompter.· Floor directs newscasts· Operates the audio during newscasts and production.· Edits audio and video recordings.· Airs weather announcements.· Lights studio and remote locations.· Sets-up and records field production by operating cameras, recorders, lighting and audio equipment.· Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum Knowledge Skills & Abilities:MUST have handheld camera experience. Must be physically able to reach and manipulate all operating controls on the technical equipment. Ability to make decisions and react quickly in order to respond to last minute program changes and equipment malfunctions. Must have a good sense of timing in order to back time shows. Experience in audio during newscasts. Knowledge of lighting techniques. Know-how to frame camera shots. Must possess a valid State Driver’s License (or be able to get one). Education Requirements:A minimum of two years WORK experience. Physical Requirements:Ability to get videotapes from the storage shelves and load them on the videotape machines. Good manual dexterity in order to operate the numerous small push-buttons and rotary switches on the equipment. Ability to maneuver cameras and manipulate camera and lens controls. Ability to climb ladders for set repair and lamp replacement. Ability to lift and move lamp fixtures, sets, and props. Ability to perform elementary carpentry skills such as sawing, hammering and painting. Ability to control the teleprompter speed consistent with the talent reading speed. Good eyesight and hearing for the monitoring and reporting of commercial and program quality. Good hearing to receive director commands.
