The studio recently completed work on two Oscar-nominated films, Star Trek Into Darkness and The Lone Ranger . The company’s Emmy-nominated work can been seen in Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey , as well as Flight , Looper and the upcoming release The Walk .   We are looking for a production accountant to provide financial support and analysis for visual effects ( VFX ) productions for our Oakland office.  This position works closely with VFX producers and production managers as well as finance on issues of production budgeting, forecasting/cash flows, margin analysis, headcount analysis, production analytics, general finance/accounting and ad-hoc analysis.  Responsibilities: o   Assist with project bidding and converting bids to workable budgets o   Cost tracking of assigned projects, including preparing weekly variance reports and Estimated Final Cost ( EFC ) reports o   Audit production timecards and review for accuracy and make reclassifications as required o   Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing and preparing production-related payroll journals o   Manage studio staffing spreadsheets for financial accuracy (start dates, end dates, rate updates, etc.) o   Prepare client invoices and manage production-related A/P and A/R o   Assist producers with managing outsource and resource costs o   Review and code purchase orders, invoices, and petty cash o   Prepare and maintain audit backup for assigned projects o   Additional finance and production-related accounting analysis as needed   Qualifications:   o   Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting o   3-4 years feature film production accounting experience ( VFX experience a plus) o   Advanced Excel skills o   Proven ability to work closely with others on a tight production schedule o   Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills o   Able to react and respond quickly to the needs of management and clients
