The anticipated start date is August 2018. The position requirements are to teach four undergraduate and/or graduate film courses in both practice and theory per semester, engage in committee service, maintain regular office hours, and participate in campus and community life. SVAD is a large and diverse unit with approximately 3,000 majors and minors across four program areas that include Architecture, Digital Media, Film, and Studio Art. SVAD offers undergraduate B.F.A. and B.A. degrees in Film, as well as an M.F.A. in Emerging Media – Entrepreneurial Digital Cinema. Faculty in the Film program support the M.F.A. degree by giving critiques, mentoring, chairing and serving on graduate thesis committees. UCF supports and rewards teaching excellence.  Position Minimum Qualifications At the time of the appointment, the applicant must have a master’s degree (for instructor) or terminal degree (M.F.A. or Ph.D.) (for lecturer) in film production and/or cinema studies, or a related field from an accredited institution; have a record of film-related creative work; and show evidence of teaching experience at the undergraduate level at an accredited institution of higher learning in film production and/or cinema studies classes. PreferencesDemonstrate some or all of the following: - A record of exhibited creative work - Evidence of two years or more of undergraduate level and/or graduate level teaching experience - Evidence of teaching in both film production and cinema studies classes- An ability to integrate established film production practices with the medium’s emerging technologies - An established professional practice and/or demonstrated proficiency in one or more film production related areas, including but not limited to: electronic camera systems and work flow; non-linear video editing; cinematography; production and post production sound; film or video art installations; film business and distribution models, etc. Additional Application Materials RequiredThe university requires that all candidates apply online at  In addition to the online application, please upload the following documents: a letter of application that includes teaching philosophy, a current CV, online links to creative work, a sample syllabi, the names and contact information for three references (no letters), and a copy of transcripts from the highest degree granting institution. The selected candidate will be required to submit official transcripts. Note: Please have all documents ready when applying so they can be attached at that time.
