We are looking for an experienced Editor with comprehensive non-linear editing skills to effectively edit visual concepts and provide creative input while operating computer video equipment in accordance with established CBN and industry standards and protocol; offering clients the ability to create desired effects with multiple media formats, and provide logistical support to the editing session, resulting in the successful completion of client projects for the team based in Virginia Beach, VA. The ideal candidate will have the following experience   and qualifications : 3 – 5 years experience at a postproduction or television facility Must possess comprehensive knowledge of computer editing systems, software and related equipment as well as exhibit creative concepts of editing composition with ability to learn and apply new and advanced technology quickly. Exceptional editing skills identifiable by clients and peers and measurable by visual appeal and in compliance with appropriate technical standards Ability to exercise judgment/concepts given a script or project with the willingness and ability to choose media appropriate for filling and/or for breaking News situations Demonstrative knowledge of NTSC and PAL digital television standards as well as necessary conversion techniques Must be skilled in color perception, and possess meticulous attention to visual and composition detail with ability to color correct video as necessary SBE Certified as a Broadcast Engineer with television endorsement preferred Mastered knowledge and performance in the following areas as well as applicable corresponding software: digital video effects videotape record machines time base and signal processing equipment monitoring devices and equipment Ability to communicate and interact well with positive interpersonal and intercultural skills Must exhibit excellent skills with complex audio mixing and editing techniques Possess competent diagnostic skills to resolve technical problems and discrepancies with both hardware and software involving digital editing processes.
