As a Commodity Manager, you will help to reduce the cost our search clusters, which form one of the largest computing platforms in the world. You will develop and execute Google’s material acquisition strategy for Servers and Networking hardware in support of the deployment compute infrastructures for Google’s Search Engine. A technical background and deep knowledge into specific industries are needed to conduct complex negotiations. As a seasoned professional you will be expected to lead and participate on large projects as well as understand and resolve complex issues that put company objectives at risk. Specific areas of expertise include Memory, Hard Drive, Network Equipment, Motherboard and Semiconductors. Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute Commodity Strategies.
• Lead cross functional teams through supplier selection.
• Conduct high level negotiations and comprehensive agreements with supplier executives.
• Maintain high level of industry expertise and supplier/market conditions.
• Implement “best in class” supply chain improvements.

• BA/BS or equivalent with at least 10 years of relevant experience in the technology industry.
• Technical undergraduate with MBA or MS degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of Procurement or Supply Chain Management experience.
• Prior leadership or management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes.
