greenlightjobs’ service is Free to Basic Members. This allows you to search for jobs, add your personal account information, complete your profile and upload your resume. If you choose to upgrade to a Premium Membership, which includes many additional benefits, including resume assistance, career coaching, special events and features one-on-one interview with our Career Counselors, the cost is $9.99 a month At times, we offer special promotions, so please look out for our special offers when they are announced.
How do I upgrade to a Premium Membership?
If you are already a Basic Member, all you need to do is log onto your account and enter “my subscription” and select the “update” to choose the upgrade option that suits you. If you are new to greenlightjobs, simply create a new user name and password and you can automatically select the Premium Member option when you create your user profile. Can I still get a job if I am not a Premium Member?
Yes. greenlightjobs Basic Members have the same access to jobs and job postings as do Premium Members. However, if you are serious about presenting the true range of your qualifications, you may want to consider upgrading to a Premium Membership, allowing you to take advantage of the many additional member benefits. You will receive personalized career guidance from one of our Career Counselors who will assist you with a whole host of career related services. How do I match to a job?
greenlightjobs was originally based on the eHarmony matching profile model. In fact, our original technology team built greenlightjobs and eHarmony. We were the first to use specific job matching questions highlighting ones work environment, work values and work attitudes aptly named, EVA tm to match to job postings and job skills. Today, we are evolving that process through our strategic partnerships with career assessment tools allowing you to use your unique career preferences and match to the job of your choice. You will match to jobs based on your skills and preferences listed in your profile based on our proprietary search algorithm which will select you based on your preferences, skill set and desired career objectives. In addition and if you choose, you will be given the choice to use a selection of job assessment tools to further assist you in your career objectives through our third party relationships.
How do I apply for jobs?
The best way to match to a job that's right for you is to include all of your qualifications during the registration process in “my profile”. The more information you have to show the better it is for you to match to a job the recruiter is seeking to fill. If you wish to send your resume directly to the Employer from a job posting, you can do that as well by selecting “Apply Direct.” Many Employer sites have special requirements and applicant tracking systems where they can only accept your resume directly through their site. Please keep in mind you must be a registered user on greenlightjobs to do this. You may also update your profile in the database in the event the Employer is searching our database as well. Although no guarantee, we strongly recommend you take advantage of this because Employers are searching and matching the greenlightjobs database for candidates as well and by becoming a Premium Member you can upload additional samples of your work to truly showcase your talent to those who are looking for you.
Can I join the site without agreeing to the Terms of Use/Privacy Policy?
No. In order to register and activate your account, you must agree to the Terms of Use AND the Privacy Policy during the registration process if you are an Applicant or an Employer. The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy are a mandatory condition to use the site and the policies are the same for both the Applicant and the Employer. If you have any questions about these policies, please contact us at info@greenlightjobs.com and enter “Terms of Use/Privacy Policy” in the subject line. We recommend that you become familiar with the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy listed on the site before you register to become a member.
Where do I find a list of locations and position listings?
You may use the “search jobs” feature on the left hand margin of the site located on the home page. The locations are presented for those cities and states and countries where jobs are posted and available through our site. We are a global site, so opportunities are listed from various countries around the world although are most predominant job markets include, New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. All of our current open positions are available by selecting the pull down listing under the jobs category. From there you will be provided a list on which jobs and locations you might be interested in applying to.
I'm perfect for a job listing I see. What's next?
If you see a job listing that's perfect for you, you can do one of two things. First, update your online application by logging into you’re “my profile.” Make sure you consider including your resume or online portfolio and a web link to a website if you have one, so that the recruiter who is searching the candidate database can get as much information about you as possible. TIP: Making sure your resume is tailored to the job requirements given the competitiveness of the marketplace these days is important as well, since recruiters are inundated with resumes and portfolios that do not match what they are looking for. Remember, you only have one shot to make a good first impression so make sure you take advantage of all of the tools and resources at your disposal. If you need additional assistance, we can help you with targeting your resume, profile and expanding your network when you choose to become a Premium Member.
Who has access to my resume and profile?
Employer clients, recruiters, hiring managers, etc. and greenlightjobs Career Counselors who have registered onto the site as well and have authorized and secured access to your information once you are registered with greenlightjobs.
How many files can I upload?
As a Basic Member, you are able to upload your resume up to 5 MB of data for FREE. As a Premium Member you are able to upload multiple forms of media including your resume, portfolio, video, audio, drawings and images. You can upload up to a maximum of 50 MB of data when you upgrade your account and become a Premium Member. In either case, we recommend you also include a link to your web site if you have one, where interested recruiters can review more of your work regardless of which membership category you select.
What is the best format to use when uploading my resume or portfolio?
We support most resume file formats but those recommended are MS Word (.doc and .docx) or .pdf as Employers and Recruiters prefer the visual display of your resume in these formats. In addition, if you are uploading additional files as a Premium Member to your portfolio, you may include .mov,.mp4, .wmv, .jpg, .gif, .png, and, .tif files (high resolution based on available bandwidth).
How can I promote myself in addition to posting my resume?
Yes. If you are interested in being considered to preview a brief bio with photo and basically “promote” yourself and your skills you can request to be featured on “the lot” which is our featured Applicant section on the Members page of the site, helping you highlight and network yourself to our over 50,000 + monthly unique visitors! Who knows, you may even get a job offer! You will have to become a Premium Member as this extra service is reserved for that group. If you are a Premium Member and are interested in being profiled on “the lot” there is no additional fee. Please email us your request and you may be asked to supply a brief bio and picture and email us at customerservice@greenlightjobs.com
and indicate “The Lot” in your subject line. A greenlightjobs staff member will contact you for follow-up and discuss next steps with you and how and when you will be promoted on “the lot.”
How can I showcase my creative work on the homepage?
If you are interested in showcasing some of your creative work such as videos, animation, stills, drawings, etc, we also have a place for you! In “the network” you can upload your reel so that our over 50,000 + monthly unique visitors can view your creative work on located front and center on the greenlightjobs homepage. This too, is reserved for our Premium Members. So if you are a Premium Member and are interested in showcasing your video or artwork on “the network,” please send us an email us at customerservice@greenlightjobs.com and indicate “the network” in your subject line. A greenlightjobs staff member will contact you for follow-up and working with you on which reel will be best suited to showcase your work. Keep in mind, we are only able to showcase non-copyrighted or non-trademarked material and only those pieces that you have permission to use.
What should be included in my portfolio?
Your portfolio should include a variety of your work including your best stills, creative shots, an updated resume, and audio and video reels if applicable and a link to an external website. Remember, it's best to include as much information as possible and not make the recruiter "look" to find out more. greenlightjobs is a one-stop-shop to display all of your work. We encourage you to take advantage of the technology that allows you to showcase your talents to the hiring manager and to really stand out. Take advantage of the benefits of the Premium Membership as you are able to upload up to 50 MBS of data which allows you greater flexibility to showcase as much as your creative work as possible.
How do I edit my online application and resume once it’s uploaded?
You can edit your online application and resume very easily. First, log in to greenlightjobs with your username and password. When you are logged in, you select “my profile”. From there, you can edit any of the information under “my profile” including work history, education, contact information, etc. If you have any questions, you can always contact us at info@greenlightjobs.com
How do I delete, deactivate, change or reactivate my account?
You can delete, deactivate or change your account in the “my subscription” section of your profile. You may select one of three options, Delete, Deactivate (which will hide your profile from anyone viewing it from the outside), or Change. Please remember that once you delete your account, you will not match to any jobs or be visible to any recruiter or Employer searching the database. You will then be required to set up a new User Name and Password if you wish to re-activate your account in the future. If you delete your account and you are a Premium Member, you will not receive any pro-rata portion of any subscription dues already paid. Your subscription will be deleted as of the date you entered it into the system and you will not be charged a subscription fee for the next billing period or for the next month. If you are not sure about wanting to remove yourself from the database for a temporary time period, we recommend that you “deactivate” your account instead. By deactivating your account, you will remove it from the searchable database and no one will view or have access to your information. You will still be in the database as an “inactive” user, but your profile will not be removed. You may change your information by selecting the “Update” edit feature on your profile. If you wish to reactivate your account, please log in using your user name and password and go to “my subscription” page and select “reactivate” my account. Your profile will once again be available for view and you will be active in the searchable database.
Can I change my password?
Yes, once you create a user name and log in to your account, you can select “my profile” and then select “update”. You will then be in the “edit member profile.” From there you can change your account information including your password.
What if I forget my user name and password?
You may select “Forget Password?” on the member log in box on the homepage of the site. By entering your email address you created with your account, we will email you your user name and password to your email address.
Can I search for jobs Confidentially?
Yes, you may select the “inactive” feature under “my profile”. This will allow your profile to be “hidden” from the searchable database. Your profile will not be deleted from the website. You will no longer match to new job listings that appear, nor will recruiters or Employers searching the database be able to access your profile or resume. This will enable you to search for jobs confidentially within the database. If you see a job you are interested in, you will have the choice whether to apply for the position or not. You may always reactivate your profile and account by following the procedures outlined here.
When will I interview with a Career Counselor from greenlightjobs?
If you are a Premium Member, or when you upgrade from a Basic Member, you will be contacted by one of our Career Consultants who will help evaluate your resume, portfolio and answer any questions you might have, review your online application, review and critique your online portfolio and give you career counseling and guidance preparing you for your next job interview. Our experts have many years experience working in the Media and Entertainment industry and will be able to guide you in addressing your career questions and help you network and connect to your next job!
Which Employers post on greenlightjobs?
greenlightjobs is the destination for many of our media & entertainment Employer clients looking to hire talent for job openings in the, video gaming, film, television, digital arts and animation industries. How often are job postings updated?
We promote, update and display Employer client job listings on a weekly basis. We work with our partners such as SimplyHired, Hot Jobs, etc where we push jobs to their sites and offer updates from their site to ours as well. This way you have one place, greenlightjobs to search for active, open positions in the industry. If you are registered on greenlightjobs, we automatically send you weekly newsletters with new and existing job listings posted from Employers. You can update your information on the greenlightjobs site in order to match to jobs from Employers who use the database to search for resumes, or you may apply to the Employer site directly by following the appropriate links on the job posting as listed.
Do you work with schools and university graduates?
Yes. greenlightjobs works very closely with schools and universities throughout the world offering career counseling, coaching and speaking engagements to students who are looking to embark on a career in the media & entertainment field. We take pride in helping recent graduates with their resume and career guidance and help them develop and build upon their network. We work closely with Alumni groups and school advisors to help students navigate their career options. How do I “Opt-Out” of newsletters and email communication?
You may select “opt-out” box from the “my subscription” section of the profile. Please keep in mind, it may take time to activate this function. To ensure that you no longer receive email communication from us, we also suggest that you select the “unsubscribe” feature located at the bottom of the email communication. Since we use a third party email client manager system to send out our emails, it is best that you select both options to ensure that you no longer receive unwanted email communication from us. Be aware that we cannot prevent any third party email communication where you may be on a list prior to deactivating your email notification. You will more than likely need to deactivate that or unsubscribe from unwanted third party email communications separately.

As a registered and approved Employer it does not cost to post jobs to greenlightjobs. Job postings are FREE and there is no limit to the number of jobs you can post to the site.
Does it cost to mine the database for candidates?
Yes, for an Employer to search and match the database for suitable candidates, there is a subscription fee. Once you subscribe, the number of searches and matches you can make for any and all open positions you are searching for are unlimited. There are features to manage your searches and you may contact eligible and active Applicants directly. Do I need to be approved in order to post jobs?
Yes, in order to create an Employer account and register to post jobs you will need to create a user name and password and an auto-email will be generated giving you access to your account. You will then be submitted for approval into our system and be given an email indicating you are approved to post jobs to the site. This feature is for your protection as well as those of the Job Seeker so that we can minimally authorize and approve Employer’s who register onto the site and maintain the integrity of our relationships and content to all of our clients.
How often are job postings updated?

How do Employers post jobs?
Employers actually subscribe to use the database mining services of the site in order to match and locate qualified candidates. We provide FREE job postings to Employers so that it will not discourage them from finding you or for you to know where to find them. Our job postings are updated regularly through our proprietary software and can be seen under “the jobs” list on the site, or by the search feature on the left margin of the site. Employers have many job posting choices available to them today. We have designed the site to encompass a niche career community specializing in Media & Entertainment so our clients know that they are targeting a niche demographic of Job Seekers within this industry where they can post and advertise on greenlightjobs. In addition, they choose greenlightjobs for the "high touch" we provide as we pre-screen our Premium Members when we review our candidates qualifications and suitability for membership which is a huge selling point to our Employer clients who subscribe to search the database.
How do I create an Employer Account and Post Jobs?
Once we give you the “greenlight," you will be able to access your Employer account by logging in with your user name and system generated password (you may change this once you are logged into your account by selecting the Change Your Login Password). You will be brought to an Admin Menu where you can select “Manage Your Account, Jobs, Logins.” By selecting the “Manage Jobs” button you will be able to post new jobs onto the site. You will also be able to manage other user logins and update your company information profile.
How long does it take to post a job?
Once you create your log in and set up your Employer account, you may post as many jobs as you would like. Once you post a job, these jobs are placed within a “Drafts” folder pending approval by one of our Career Counselors. We take this extra step to manage and ensure the content posted to the site is in accordance with the greenlightjobs’ Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Once your postings are approved (usually 24 hours or less), you will see them displayed on the website in the Admin Menu under “Active Jobs” when you log in and also posted on the homepage of the website, under ‘the jobs” section.
Can I post a Company Logo to the site?
Yes, you can email us as recruitment@greenlightjobs.com if you would like to add a logo to your company profile or to your job postings. We will ensure that the posting is matched to your job.
How long is the job posting active on the site?
Job postings remain active for a maximum of thirty (30) days including weekends and holidays. If you wish to repost the job again, you may do so by selecting them from your “Inactive” folder in the Admin section once you log into your account.
Can I post a job Confidentially?
Yes. You have the option to post jobs confidentially where your name, contact information is withheld and not displayed as part of the active job posting. All confidential job postings are placed under the heading, “GLJ Confidential”. All resumes will be re-directed to apply directly to our recruitment@greenlightjobs.com email address where interested Applicant’s resumes will be forwarded to you for consideration.
How do candidates apply for a job posting?
You can set the application process up a number of ways. 1) You can have the Job Seeker “Apply Direct” to your company’s website; 2) You can search the database for the Applicants profile that will match to your posting (there is an additional subscription fee to do this details can be found here Subscription Rate Card
How long do I have access to the Applicant profiles?
As long as you remain a registered user and you are compliant, with our Terms of Use, you will continue to have access to your account in order to post, manage, retrieve, archive Applicant resumes and profile data information. If you wish to search the database to find passive candidates who have not directly applied for your posting and who may also be qualified, you will need to upgrade your subscription to a paid one for Employers. As a Premium Member, you are granted expanded access to create, manage and archive an online Video Resume, access sample cover letters and create your own, archive recommendations letters and create and store your image and video portfolio sections allowing you greater use and file storage capability to manage all aspects of your career portfolio. What is the library?
The library is a FREE online resource center where you are able to access when you subscribe to the site. The library contains editorial content geared towards helping you with your career goals. What is the lot?
The lot is a feature of the site much like the network that allows us to showcase and promote you to our subscribers who are registered with greenlightjobs. This feature is exclusive for Premium Members only. Once you become a Premium Member, you are eligible to be included on the lot profile page located within the Members section of the site. You will discuss this at your option with your Career Counselor who will help you prepare a brief paragraph highlighting your background, interests and career goals including a picture. This is one way we can promote you to the tens of thousands of industry people accessing our site on a monthly basis.
What is the network?
Similar to the lot, the network is a group of registered Premium Member subscribers who have media and other creative work in their online portfolio that allows us to showcase and promote their work on our homepage. Once you become a Premium Member, you are eligible to be included in the network section of the site. You will discuss this at your option with your Career Counselor who will work with you on pulling together your portfolio and help you prepare the format and content that will best showcase your work and your talent. The content we provide and the submissions made are approved by greenlightjobs and are for purely informational purposes and to provide knowledge and additional resources to our subscribers to help them in their career pursuits. Our Career Consultants have in excess of 25 years professional recruitment, human resources and counseling experience. Once you have provided the information needed to create your resume, we will provide you with a draft and an electronic version which is approved by you for immediate release and we will help you network your resume for job opportunities on our website, greenlightjobs and through our preferred job postings provided by our Employer network in the Media & Entertainment community.
